I thinking of buying an apartment with the main door open directly to a flight of steps side angle. The passage from the main door to the flight of steps measures 4ft.wide.
Is it a good buy?

Hi Jasmin, the answer to your question is dependent upon your floor plan and the proximity of the stairs to the door. If your lanai door is used as the front entrance to your home and the staircase is situated close to the door then it may impact your Feng Shui. It sounds as though there is a lot of space between the stairs and the door if you are able to place the dining set in between. Perhaps a screen would be a good option to prevent energy leaking out of the home.

Is there a bad effect if my stair case is facing my lanai door but in between is my dining set. My staircase is facing south.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your question. Using an entrance that doesn't face the front door should definitely be considered, however there are a number of variables that need to be evaluated such as the quality of energy at the entrance, the energy map or horoscope (flying star chart) of the house, and landforms and structures around the home. Unfortunately it's not possible to give a general answer without a Feng Shui analysis, as every home is unique. I recommend that you seek advice from a qualified Traditional Feng Shui consultant before you invest money in converting the entrance. Best of luck! Jane

I have 2 entrances into my house, side by side. The main doors face partly to the staircases if opened one side. The other entrance located on the left of the main entrance, which leads to the formal living room. Should we consider converting this entrance into the Main entrance instead? What do you think?

For the garage entrance/stairs I would recommend having the top of the staircase well lit and place an attractive feature there if possible, to draw Qi upwards (from the garage entrance into the home).

If both staircases are facing the door, it would be ideal to screen off this area, if possible. If not, perhaps there is a space to the side of the staircases where you can place a decorative feature to attract energy into the living spaces rather than down the staircase.

You could also try placing a circular rug inside the doorway to help circulate the energy. Hope this helps!

Hi Presha
Thanks for your question. Unforunately no home is perfect from a Feng Shui perspective, and a house on the corner of a road may not necessarily be unfavourable.

A staircase to the left of the main entrance doesn't sound as much of a problem as a staircase directly facing the entrance, however this depends on a number of factors such as the floor plan, orientation of the building, age of the home, usage of the home and surrounding landscapes.

Each home is unique, so unfortunately it's difficult to give you a general answer without visiting your home and conducting an analysis.

Kind regards

Jane

Hi,

We just purchased a house and its in the corner. I've heard that its not a good idea to buy a house in the corner. Is that true? Also, my front door facing a staircase but its not facing directly or aligned directly. Staircase is on the left of the font door facing from main entrance? Please advise. Staircase is on the left of the main entrance.

Hi Grace
Thanks for your comment. Crystals are powerful and I would be cautious placing them around the house as they amplify the unseen energy in a space, which can be positive or negative.

I tend not to use mirrors as a Feng Shui remedy for stair cases. The placement of your mirror sounds fine in general, however mirrors pull in energy from the opposite part of the house. Mirrors are best placed in areas that contain good energy too. Again this is something that requires an analysis of the floor plan, together with the age and specific orientation of your building.

Another general remedy you can try is to place a circular rug at the bottom of your stairs. This can have the effect of circulating and slowing down the energy.

Hope this helps!
